USA Made use to be a badge of honor, showing your dedication and pride, the love you have for your country and the products you produce. Unfortunately, I feel like it has been hijacked. So many companies use that popular phrase in hopes of boasting their products or gaining favoritism over other companies. The definition of USA made is " a product that is made in the United States, with all or almost all of its parts, labor, and processing taking place in the country." The way I got into making USA Made Hunting Saddles and other USA Made hunting gear was because I was led to believe a certain company was USA Made. I remember them branding their business to be high quality USA Made gear, and when I went to inspect the pouch, I saw a "Made in China" tag. Although they claim their Hunting saddle was made in America, the branding made me believe every piece of their gear was as well. 

As I have grown into this space and learning as much as I can, I now realized there are so many companies (Not just in the hunting space) that claims or brands to be USA Made, but clearly, they are not. Let's dive into what makes USA Made Hunting Saddles and other products and how companies will brand their products to make people perceive everything they offer is produced in America.

Starting at the foundation of every product, there has to be some sort of design team or individual to research and develop a product. For instance, I knew I wanted to design USA made hunting saddles, so I put pad to pen and started working. All over the country and different sectors of business other than hunting, companies will hire design teams all over the world to keep costs low while receiving top quality work. As we continue to grow, if I wanted to save money, I would hire a team to design for me in different parts of the world. This takes away jobs for Americans back at home.

The absolute biggest issue we face as a country is the labor and production outsourcing. Everyone knows about it, and everyone knows we are struggling due to that problem. I'm sure one of you reading has had some sort of impact in your own community where a big company ends production in your town, lays off a bunch of people, and outsources to Mexico or China. I know I have. In fact, about 15 years ago, we had a GM plant shutdown and lost over 1000 jobs in my own small community within a very short amount of time. They moved all production to a different country. Also, we have had 5 other major manufactures close their doors within the past 5 years in my own town and lost another 2000+ jobs. They outsourced to China, Brazil, and Mexico. Without manufacturing jobs, my own town has suffered tremendously with crime and drugs. Thats why it's important to keep production in America. To build a strong infrastructure so people can have jobs to work and to be proud of what they do. Thats why we keep all production of our USA Made hunting saddles and all other gear we sell, right here in Ohio.

Finally, fulfillment and customer service. Many big companies either use Ai technology or overseas labor for their inbounding and out bounding calls. Not only does this disengage the customer, but it can be very frustrating to deal with. We all know what it's like to call customer service and speak to a person that doesn't understand you very well and vice versa.

Breakdown of the Praxis Saddle

As mentioned above, the Praxis saddle in my opinion is the best USA Made hunting saddle on the market. Here a few things that stand out on the Praxis Saddle from the BullThreat Saddle.

For starters, the Praxis was designed for more comfort that the traditional single panel design without losing the single panel attributes. So, we added a contoured middle seam to help you sink into the saddle more when sitting down. Also, the middle seam helps the saddle maintain the same fold spot when folding the saddle inwards in half to put it into traverse mode.

The Praxis can also be put into traverse mode as shown above in the video, this helps with more mobility when walking into the woods. This helps maintain agility and stealth without restricting your movement as the entire saddle will just be around your hips. Conversely, folding it up in half and using the bungee retainers, you can keep the saddle nicely rolled up to pack it away or for storage during the off season.

With the bungee retainers, they are dual purpose. For one, they keep your saddle folded in half and helps keep your leg straps tucked into the body itself when walking. Second, when you deploy the saddle at your chosen tree, you now have 1 bungee on each side of the saddle to hang sticks from. Thats what I use them for, but also can be used for platforms, carabiners, or any other accessory that isn't terribly heavy.

Lastly, all of our saddles come with a top-quality bridge. We use 8mm Teufelberger Rescue Tech for the bridge with a schwabisch hitch on both sides of the bridge. Not only is the bridge very smooth and durable, but the hitch on both sides helps if you are either a right-handed person or a left-handed person. If you are a right-handed person, keep the stopper knot all the way to the hitch on the left side of the saddle and operate the bridge with your right hand. Vice versa if you are a lefty.

If you were to buy USA Made hunting saddles or any other American gear, it helps both parties in numerous ways. Supporting American business that operates within the confines of the American supply chain has numerous effects. Let's start with the consumer. 

You buy USA Made hunting saddles and that money goes to that company. That company had to pay for the materials and pay for the labor of that product you just bought. So, part of the money goes to American workers, another part of the money goes to the American companies that produce the material itself, and the rest goes to the business you bought the saddle from. Depending on profit margins, generally speaking, 70% of the money you spent is going back to the USA supply chain.

All that money being dumped back into our own economy will have a compounding effect, especially if other companies do the same. This inherently grows businesses, opens up more job opportunities, costs of material and other supplies go down. Thus, creating a plethora of abundance, information, lower costs, etc. There are many other benefits I could list off if you were to buy American only gear or USA Made hunting saddles, but the list would be too long and deserves an article by itself.
